10 February Releases You’ll Make Your Entire Personality

February 2026 Book Releases

I really hope your bank account is ready because mine is definitely not. If you’re like me, you probably have a stack of books on your nightstand that could literally fall over and crush you at any moment, but here we are looking for more. February is not playing fair this year.

The lineup this month is actually chaotic. We have everything from cozy cats in Montreal to thrillers that will make you want to check the locks on your front door three times before bed. Here are the 10 books I’m personally clearing my schedule for this month.

1. It's Not Her by Mary Kubica

The Setup Think a secluded resort, a scream in the middle of the night, and a family that is definitely hiding something.

Why it’s on the list Mary Kubica is basically the queen of making me stay up until 3 a.m. because I "just need to know one more thing." If you loved Local Woman Missing, you already know the vibes are going to be immaculate and stressful.

2. And Now, Back to You by B.K. Borison

The Setup Two rival meteorologists get stuck together during the actual storm of the century. It is giving major When Harry Met Sally energy.

Why it’s on the list B.K. Borison writes the kind of romance that feels like a warm hug and a cup of tea. It is sweet, it is spicy, and Jackson and Delilah have that grumpy vs. sunshine dynamic that we all live for.

3. The Astral Library by Kate Quinn

The Setup Historical fiction meets magic. Imagine the Boston Public Library but the books are actually portals to other worlds.

Why it’s on the list Honestly, Kate Quinn could write a grocery list and I’d read it. This is a total love letter to people who grew up wishing they could fall into their favorite stories. It is high-stakes and absolutely beautiful.

4. Songbird of the Sorrows by Braidee Otto

The Setup Forbidden love and fated mates. A princess who was cast out is now a deadly spy, and she has to deal with an ex-flame while surviving bridal trials.

Why it’s on the list This is THE Romantasy pick for February. It has everything we want: forced proximity, deadly assassins, and a lot of tension. I am fully prepared to be emotionally devastated by this one.

5. Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett

The Setup It is 1920s Montreal and there is a rescue shelter for magical cats. Enough said, right?

Why it’s on the list After reading a bunch of heavy thrillers, you need some eye bleach. This is the ultimate cozy fantasy. If you liked Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, you are going to obsessed with these magical whiskers.

6. When I Kill You by B.A. Paris

The Setup Nell Masters is being watched by someone from her past who just won't let go.

Why it’s on the list The title alone is enough to give you chills. B.A. Paris is a master at making you feel paranoid on behalf of the main character. You might want to read this one with the lights on and your back against a wall.

7. Throne of Nightmares by Kerri Maniscalco

The Setup Dark portal fantasy and very spicy romance in a world where your sins actually matter.

Why it’s on the list We are finally at Book 3 in the Prince of Sin series. If you’ve been following this, you know Kerri Maniscalco doesn't hold back on the gothic vibes or the romantic tension. It is dark, it is lush, and I need it immediately.

8. Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn

The Setup Fake dating for the cameras that starts feeling a little too real.

Why it’s on the list Meghan Quinn is the go-to for when you want to laugh out loud while reading. The banter is top-tier and it is the perfect low-stress read for a weekend when you just want to escape.

9. Heir of Illusion by Madeline Taylor

The Setup Classic fae romantasy. We're talking enemies to lovers and magic that comes with a very steep price tag.

Why it’s on the list This is a TikTok favorite that finally got a traditional publishing deal. If you live for dark fae politics and the "I will burn the world for you" trope, this is your new personality for the rest of the month.

10. The Exes by Leodora Darlington

The Setup An "exes support group" decides to take revenge a little too far.

Why it’s on the list It is basically The First Wives Club if everyone was a potential serial killer. This debut is sharp and funny but also very dark. It is the perfect "revenge is a dish best served cold" thriller.
